MORE ABOUT KALEY
I have always had a passion for helping others, which really developed when I became a girl scout. It made me not only fall in love with the outdoors but also respect others, and appreciate and take care of my surroundings, including people and planet. As I grew older and played various sports, I also fell in love with being part of a team and learning the proper mechanics to excel at every sport. This led me into joining a gym and learning through research of my own, the benefits of working out on not only my performance, but also my health. During high school I really didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career until I sat down and put all the things I love together on a sheet of paper. These things included helping people, making people laugh, enlightening myself and others about diet and exercise, dancing around while busting butt in the gym, laughing at myself, and changing lives. These really are all the attributes that make a great personal trainer, well at least for the most part. Before I became a certified personal trainer, I joined UTSA and received my Bachelors in Kinesiology specializing in athletic medicine, to ensure the best education I could get for my future career. I worked an internship position at Pressing On, where I worked with spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders. After my internship was up, I was hired by the same company as a Neurofitness specialist. My day consisted of training one on one with paraplegics, quadriplegics, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological disorders. I fell in love with bringing joy and health to these individuals on a daily basis, all while constantly learning how to adapt exercises to their specific disabilities. I then moved to Gold’s Gym where I quickly became a highly sought trainer and received numerous certifications. Life took me next to Austin, Tx where I worked at the #1 spa and resort in the US, Lake Austin Spa Resort. Here I taught dozens of different classes and worked with resort guests from all over the world, one on one. I learned many new exercise techniques and truly found myself as a trainer at LASR. I have become a very versatile and unique type of trainer with experience in water aerobics, gliding, beaming, strength training, HIIT, TRX, Stand up Paddle Board Yoga, etc. I am now back in San Antonio because I am that type of person who always strives to better myself and gain more knowledge, so I will be graduating from UTSA with my Master’s in Health and Kinesiology in May of 2018. I currently train and teach at La Cantera Resort in SA, in the world class spa Loma De Vida. I also train at WellFIT Personal Training because it is just a great place to be. I am constantly surrounded by knowledgeable, comical, and easy going trainers that are really there to help you succeed. I really believe I am in the right career because of the happiness and joy I get out of helping others succeed at accomplishing their goals and bettering themselves.
